Institute of electronics and computer science in collaboration with SIA “Infoserv-Riga” has started a new project titled Palm data acquisition and processing system (PALMs) in January 1st 2014. The project is supported by European Regional Development Fund ERDF grant No.2013/0035/2DP/2.1.1.1.0/13/APIA/VIAA/015 and managed by Dr.Sc.Comp. Modris Greitāns.

In the scope of this project it is planned to develop a palm data acquisition and processing system which uses palm print and palm vein biometric features for person identification.  The project corresponds to the Latvian priority research direction “Innovative materials and technologies”. At the end of the project we plan to offer prototype that could be offered for commercialization.
