Palm ROI detection algorithm has been developed to process images from CASIA multi-spectral palmprint database that can be found in Biometrics Ideal Test homepage: http://www.idealtest.org/dbDetailForUser.do?id=6

From the input image the edges of the palm are calculated and the borders are extracted. From the extracted border information the finger locations can be found and from this information the ROI can be extracted. Image below shows the finger ending locations and the found gaps between fingers from which the information about the palm ROI is extracted.
